The Political--Academic--Climate Complex

Climate Change Heretic

“The reason universities are so full of knowledge is students come with so much and they leave with so little.” Marshall McLuhan

Business is business.

Bjorn Lomborg criticized businesses for taking advantage of the ‘green’ opportunities available because governments have bought the message that human CO2 is causing global warming. He talks about a “Climate-Industrial Complex” comparing it with the “Military-Industrial Complex” that President Eisenhower warned about.

I partially agree with Lomborg’s concern that, “Spending a fortune on global carbon regulations will benefit a few, but dearly cost everybody else.” Why partially? His use of the word carbon is scientifically incorrect, and I don’t agree with his belief global warming or climate change are problems. I have no sympathy with his claim that some businesses are exploiting Cap and Trade opportunities. Of course they are. Almost every business is taking advantage of the green hysteria; it is what business is all about. Business is about making money and I have no difficulty with that. What angers me is the hypocrisy of businesses that claim they’re acting to stop warming or save the planet. Rubbish, they’re doing it for profit. They couldn’t do it for long if they lost money. (Government bailouts aside.)

Business is not the problem, except when exploited for personal gain by politicians like Al Gore. The real threat is the Political - Academic - Climate Complex. Climate research funded by taxpayers is being exploited by academics to advance their careers with virtually no accountability and all within unassailable mostly taxpayer funded institutions..(see link for entire article).

American capitalism gone with a whimper

Excellent article from Russia's Pravda on the future of our American democracy... They understand Marxism and see it unlike so many of us here in America who walk around with blinders on.

It must be said, that like the breaking of a great dam, the American decent into Marxism is happening with breath taking speed, against the back drop of a passive, hapless sheeple, excuse me dear reader, I meant people.

True, the situation has been well prepared on and off for the past century, especially the past twenty years. The initial testing grounds was conducted upon our Holy Russia and a bloody test it was. But we Russians would not just roll over and give up our freedoms and our souls, no matter how much money Wall Street poured into the fists of the Marxists.

Those lessons were taken and used to properly prepare the American populace for the surrender of their freedoms and souls, to the whims of their elites and betters.

First, the population was dumbed down through a politicized and substandard education system based on pop culture, rather then the classics. Americans know more about their favorite TV dramas then the drama in DC that directly affects their lives. They care more for their "right" to choke down a McDonalds burger or a BurgerKing burger than for their constitutional rights. Then they turn around and lecture us about our rights and about our "democracy". Pride blind the foolish.

Then their faith in God was destroyed...

Mansfield Flag Controversy Draws Worldwide Outrage

It is so sad that in America, patriotism could be considered offensive... How dare they tell her she had to take down the flag. The proper response from the hospital would be "Patriotism is never offensive" I'm sorry you don't understand that the flag is a flag for all who love America, liberty, freedom and apple pie and it stays.. The Constitution doesn't protect people from being offended. If you are, you are living in the wrong country..
Is it okay to show your patriotism at the office?

For one Arlington woman, the answer was "no" after she hung an American flag in her office just before the Memorial Day weekend.

Debbie McLucas is one of four hospital supervisors at Kindred Hospital in Mansfield. Last week, she hung a three-by-five foot American flag in the office she shares with the other supervisors.

When McLucas came to work Friday, her boss told her another supervisor had found her flag offensive. "I was just totally speechless. I was like, 'You're kidding me,'" McLucas said.

Memorial Day - Honor the heroes

Honor the fallen this Memorial Day and every day throughout the year.

Obviously we can't highlight every one of our fallen heroes but it is important to tell as many stories as possible in honor of every one of our brave men and women who paid the ultimate sacrifice. Here a just a few..

Common Name,Uncommon Valor

The story of Paul Smith, the Iraq War's only Medal of Honor recipient so far
by RALPH KINNEY BENNETT

Since his days growing up in Tampa, Fla., the lanky kid with the slightly mischievous smile had wanted to be a soldier. By this bright morning, April 4, 2003, Sgt. First Class Paul Ray Smith had more than fulfilled his dream. He had served 15 of his 33 years in the U.S. Army, including three tours of duty in harm's way--in the Persian Gulf, Bosnia and Kosovo.

Now all his training, all his experience, all the instincts that had made him a model soldier, were about to be put to the test. With 16 men from his First Platoon, B Company, 11th Engineer Battalion, Sgt. Smith was under attack by about 100 troops of the Iraqi Republican Guard.

"We're in a world of hurt," he muttered.

How Torture Helped Win WWII

Excellent article.. a must read

Fretting over waterboarding, writes British historian Andrew Roberts, obscures the fact that "enhanced interrogation techniques" have saved thousands of lives in every war. Plus, read Michael Korda's review of Roberts' book Masters and Commanders: How Churchill, Roosevelt, Alanbrooke and Marshall Won the War in the West, 1941-45.

If anyone believes that SIS persuaded each of these 19 hard-bitten Nazi spies to fall in with Operation Fortitude by merely offering them tea, biscuits, and lectures in democracy, they’re being profoundly naïve.

Isms-“Make Mine Freedom” & "How to Brainwash A Nation"

Amazing how relevant both the videos are to what we see going on today. The demoralization process by Communist operatives was more successful than they could have ever dreamed. The other warns, if only people would have listened, of drinking from the "ism" bottle that will bring a collective utopia

I ran across these brilliant videos whilst perusing the blogs of two patriotic ladies, they were so compelling that I wanted to share them here on Digital Publius.

The first one “Make Mine Freedom” comes to us courtesy of The Conservative Mama blog. It’s prophetic accuracy is mind boggling. It warns the viewer of the dangers inherent in succumbing to the seductive nature of the various leftist political ideas or “Isms”.

The next video features Yuri Bezmenov, a former KGB operative as he explains the nature of the attack that America has indeed seemingly fallen victim to.

An Apology to Israel and the Rest of America's True Friends and Allies

Love this article.. no introduction needed..

By Pamela Meister
President Obama, as befits a true leftist, has been apologizing vociferously to the world for not only all of the horrible things George W. Bush did, but apparently also for the rest of us lowly Americans for being "arrogant" and "dismissive" toward Europe. I'll bet Eurolitists are practically wetting their pants at the admission of an American president that even though George W. Bush is out of office, the Ugly American is alive and well.

Additionally, he made sure America received its share of the blame of the world economic crisis. By doing so, I suppose he's just trying to make up for that blasted arrogance.

Obama also groveled at the feet of the "Muslim world" (no, there are no Christian and Jewish worlds, but thank you for asking) by declaring that the U.S. is not at war with Islam. He's right, we're not. Factions of Islam are at war with us and the rest of the West. And don't forget that bow to King Abdullah of the nation responsible for much of the financing of radical Islam. The MSM has pretty much ignored this embarrassing breach of protocol - heads of state do not bow and scrape to one another - but I find it interesting that Obama didn't make the same mistake with Queen Elizabeth. The only thing we heard about was Michelle Obama daring to touch Her Majesty, over which Larry King hyperventilated on his television show. Time to take that paper bag and put it over your head, Larry.

But now, as the first leg of the World Apology TourTM has come to its end and Obama must once again endure the tedium of the White House, I thought I'd take up the torch and deliver a few apologies that Obama seems to have forgotten. In the spirit of leftists everywhere, I offer the following:

I'm sorry, Israel
, that our president has seen fit to throw the oldest and most stable democracy in the Middle East under the bus...

How the rescue happened

I little bit of background concerning Obama getting so much credit for allowing the military to actually do what they had authority to do in the first place.. so tacky.. just couldn't wait to rush out to the press conference to strut his "foreign policy" credentials. They are using this incident to say, "See, Democrats are strong on defense".. right.... I have a bridge I want to sell you..

The AP is reporting that President Obama gave the order to use military force to rescue the hostage, that is misleading.

WASHINGTON (AP)—Administration officials say President Barack Obama approved the military operation that rescued a U.S. captain held hostage by Somali pirates.

The officials say Obama ordered the Defense Department to use military resources to rescue Richard Phillips from a lifeboat off the Somali coast.

He did affirm the military's authorization to use force if the captain's life was in danger, but they already would have had that authorization as part of their standard rules of engagement. If there are innocents about to be slaughtered the same reasoning that authorizes self defense also covers an imminent execution unless the ROE specifically forbid it.The AP is making it sound like there was an active rescue ordered by the President. It was not, there was an imminent threat and the local commander gave the order to fire. Good on Obama for ensuring their authorization was clear, but let's also be clear that he did not authorize or order an active rescue attempt.

UPDATE: Good gravy, the Kossacks are trying to spin Obama up for a medal or something.

Wilders’ historic address to Massachussetts synagogue

Wilders faces prosecution and jail for speaking out against radical Islam. In Holland and England you have no free speech, yet the Islamists can say the most vile things.

Dutch lawmaker and filmmaker Geert Wilders, banned last week from setting foot on British soil, appeared at Ahavath Torah Congregation.

While we in America can still speak out we must speak out against Shariah and Multiculturalism. We are one country, under one people-we are all Americans. Culture is important to practice for each family and we can all enjoy the differences we bring to the nation, but it shouldn't take precedence over our American culture.
Following is video of Geert Wilders' appearance.
