Mansfield Flag Controversy Draws Worldwide Outrage

It is so sad that in America, patriotism could be considered offensive... How dare they tell her she had to take down the flag. The proper response from the hospital would be "Patriotism is never offensive" I'm sorry you don't understand that the flag is a flag for all who love America, liberty, freedom and apple pie and it stays.. The Constitution doesn't protect people from being offended. If you are, you are living in the wrong country..
Is it okay to show your patriotism at the office?

For one Arlington woman, the answer was "no" after she hung an American flag in her office just before the Memorial Day weekend.

Debbie McLucas is one of four hospital supervisors at Kindred Hospital in Mansfield. Last week, she hung a three-by-five foot American flag in the office she shares with the other supervisors.

When McLucas came to work Friday, her boss told her another supervisor had found her flag offensive. "I was just totally speechless. I was like, 'You're kidding me,'" McLucas said.

Memorial Day - Honor the heroes

Honor the fallen this Memorial Day and every day throughout the year.

Obviously we can't highlight every one of our fallen heroes but it is important to tell as many stories as possible in honor of every one of our brave men and women who paid the ultimate sacrifice. Here a just a few..

Common Name,Uncommon Valor

The story of Paul Smith, the Iraq War's only Medal of Honor recipient so far
by RALPH KINNEY BENNETT

Since his days growing up in Tampa, Fla., the lanky kid with the slightly mischievous smile had wanted to be a soldier. By this bright morning, April 4, 2003, Sgt. First Class Paul Ray Smith had more than fulfilled his dream. He had served 15 of his 33 years in the U.S. Army, including three tours of duty in harm's way--in the Persian Gulf, Bosnia and Kosovo.

Now all his training, all his experience, all the instincts that had made him a model soldier, were about to be put to the test. With 16 men from his First Platoon, B Company, 11th Engineer Battalion, Sgt. Smith was under attack by about 100 troops of the Iraqi Republican Guard.

"We're in a world of hurt," he muttered.

How Torture Helped Win WWII

Excellent article.. a must read

Fretting over waterboarding, writes British historian Andrew Roberts, obscures the fact that "enhanced interrogation techniques" have saved thousands of lives in every war. Plus, read Michael Korda's review of Roberts' book Masters and Commanders: How Churchill, Roosevelt, Alanbrooke and Marshall Won the War in the West, 1941-45.

If anyone believes that SIS persuaded each of these 19 hard-bitten Nazi spies to fall in with Operation Fortitude by merely offering them tea, biscuits, and lectures in democracy, they’re being profoundly naïve.

Isms-“Make Mine Freedom” & "How to Brainwash A Nation"

Amazing how relevant both the videos are to what we see going on today. The demoralization process by Communist operatives was more successful than they could have ever dreamed. The other warns, if only people would have listened, of drinking from the "ism" bottle that will bring a collective utopia

I ran across these brilliant videos whilst perusing the blogs of two patriotic ladies, they were so compelling that I wanted to share them here on Digital Publius.

The first one “Make Mine Freedom” comes to us courtesy of The Conservative Mama blog. It’s prophetic accuracy is mind boggling. It warns the viewer of the dangers inherent in succumbing to the seductive nature of the various leftist political ideas or “Isms”.

The next video features Yuri Bezmenov, a former KGB operative as he explains the nature of the attack that America has indeed seemingly fallen victim to.
